Artist BIO

Kathryn Anne Olive was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. She spent her youth backpacking through Europe, living and working on a kibbutz (communal farm) in Israel, as well as spending extensive time in Greece. These experiences, combined with growing up within the vibrant, diverse and colorful landscapes of Australia, directly inform her practice and palette.

 

Kathryn moved to the United States as an adult and resides in North Carolina with her family. Kathryn creates as a means to interpret her lived experiences and her personal surroundings. Utilizing both observed and imagined images as a catalyst for creation, she often intuitively reacts to nature, visualizing images that are distilled through the lens of memory and perception.
